Summary

Building on the authors' experience conducting consultations with non-State armed groups (NSAGs) as well as earlier internal research, the blog post emphasises the importance of such consultations. The authors identify three main levels of NSAG research consultations that humanitarian and human rights organisations could engage in: information, consultation, and involvement, depending on the purposes of the consultations. It then lays out ten practical steps for research consultations, or "data collection" with NSAGs.
