Fight for Humanity:
Founded in March 2019, Fight for Humanity is a Swiss-based non-governmental organization that seeks to reinforce respect for the rights of people exposed to human rights abuses in situations of violence and conflict. It currently implements programs in the Middle East on child protection, the protection of cultural heritage, and peace and social cohesion.
Role:
The Project Coordinator will coordinate Fight for Humanity’s ongoing projects in North East Syria..
Responsibilities:

Ensure the coordination, monitoring, and implementation of all planned project activities.

Ensure all programmatic, administrative and logistical support is in place to facilitate the successful implementation of the projects.

Ensure compliance of all Fight for Humanity project staff and partners with Fight for Humanity’s Code of Ethics, Code of Conduct, Anti-Corruption Policy, the Protection Against Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) Policy, and any other relevant policies procedures. This includes pro-active briefing, monitoring and reporting of all and any deviations under Fight for Humanity’s policies.

Report on a regular basis to the Head of Operations and Head of Development on financial, operations, local partner and logistical matters.

Facilitate effective coordination with local authorities in North East Syria (NES).

Oversee and support training and capacity-building activities, while supervising Fight for Humanity’s trainers in their efforts.

Assist with the project monitoring efforts led by the Monitoring Officer.

Provide support for Fight for Humanity’s advocacy efforts, engaging relevant stakeholder in NES.

Organize travel arrangements for Geneva-based staff and other resource personnel.

Represent Fight for Humanity on various platforms in NES.

Supervise the adequate use of all financial resources, keep up to date accounts and submit monthly financial and operational reports to HQ and contribute to financial reporting by the Finance Officer, in line with Fight for Humanity and its accounting partner’s policies and procedures.

Supervise Fight for Humanity’s office and any staff assigned under your responsibility in NES.

Participate in Fight for Humanity training activities as required.

Undertake any other duties appropriate to the post as may be required.
Conditions:

Based in Qamishli, NES
-
1400-1700 USD per month salary based on the experience

100% work rate

Consultancy contract

Occasional travel to Erbil, Iraq and/or Amman, Jordan

Possible extension based on needs and resources

Direct reporting line to the Head of Operations of Fight for Humanity in Geneva, Switzerland
Required experiences and skills:
-
A minimum of 5 years of experience in project coordination and humanitarian or human rights work.

Working experience from international projects and/or with international organizations or INGOs.
-
Good understanding of the Syrian armed conflict and the geopolitical dynamics of the Middle East.
-
Ability to develop good relationships with local actors in NES, including local authorities.
-
A proven commitment to improving the implementation of human rights in NES.

Solid knowledge of child protection international standards and practices.

Excellent level of English (written and spoken) required, fluency in Arabic and
-
Kurdish required.

Computer skills (proficiency in MS Office, notably Excel, Word)

Strong moral compass and proven experience from ensuring compliance.
