Fight for Humanity:

Founded in March 2019, Fight for Humanity is a dynamic non-governmental organization that seeks to reinforce respect for the rights of people exposed to human rights abuses in situations of violence and conflict. ​It currently leads programmes in the Middle East on child protection, the protection of cultural heritage and victims’ rights.

Role:

The Admin logistics & finance will support Fight for Humanity Project Manager in the work on the prevention of child recruitment in North-East Syria (NES).

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Ensure all logistical and financial support is in place to facilitate the successful implementation of the project. 

  • Supervise the use of all financial resources, keep up to date accounts, prepare monthly cash request and provide monthly financial statement including supporting documents to Geneva office in coordination with the Project Manager. 

  • Ensure respect for internal procedures in terms of accounting and cash flow. 

  • Make sure office supplies are managed and recorded according to Fight for Humanity procedures and archive all financial documents.

  • Liaise with relevant suppliers and service providers for required equipment, utilities and services and ensure respect of the procurement procedures.

  • Verify the registration and encoding of all the financial transactions, according to the internal procedures. 

  • Participate in audits if required (annual organization audit, as well as donor’s audits, or audits requested by authorities).

  • Report on a regular basis to the Project Manager on financial, operations and logistical matters. 

  • Ensure compliance of all Fight for Humanity project staff and partners with Fight for Humanity’s Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct, and any other relevant policies procedures. This includes pro-active briefing, monitoring, and reporting of all and any digressions under Fight for Humanity’s policies. 

  • Organize and participate in monthly project coordination meeting with the project lead in Geneva.

  • Responsible for all Employees records, leaves, payments, salaries. 

  • Support the Project Manager and the rest of the team for all tasks related to the Project logistics (to keep a record of office properties, equipment, furniture, and inventory).

 

 

General:

  • Work within the framework of Fight for Humanity’s core values, promoting its mission statement.

  • Commit to read and respect all Fight for Humanity’s current ethic and organizational policies.

  • Work towards achieving Fight for Humanity’s organization and programme level objectives.

  • Participate in Fight for Humanity training activities as required.

  • Undertake any other duties appropriate to the post as may be required.

 

 

Profile Requirements:

 

The applicant must meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in finance/administration field is an advantage

  • Excellent command of English in addition to Arabic and/or Kurdish

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English

  • Computer skills (proficiency in MS Office Excel, Word)

  • 3 years of experience in project administration, logistics, and finance

  • Accounting skills and care for details. Work experience from international projects and with international organizations

  • Basic knowledge and strong interest in the protection of Child Rights

 

Conditions:

This position is based in North East Syria and is full time until 31 March 2022.
