Period of Assignment: From 1st September 2026, 2 months minimum
Fight for Humanity:
Fight for Humanity is a non-partisan, impartial, and independent NGO based in Geneva, Switzerland, working to promote respect for human rights in situations of armed conflict and violence. Through dialogue, advocacy, research, training, and awareness-raising activities, the organisation works to strengthen the protection of civilians and support sustainable peace efforts.
Internship description:
The Intern will support Fight for Humanity’s communication, advocacy, and operational activities. He/she will work under the supervision of the Head of Development and, on selected assignments, provide support to the Head of Operations.
This internship offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience within an international NGO working on human rights, peacebuilding, and conflict-related issues
Role & responsibilities:
Communications

Draft and prepare content for Fight for Humanity’s communication channels, including social media, newsletters, and website updates.

Contribute to the development of communication materials highlighting the organisation’s activities, projects, and advocacy efforts.

Monitor relevant international developments and identify content opportunities related to human rights, peacebuilding, and humanitarian issues.

Assist in preparing visual and written communication materials for campaigns, events, and publications.

Support the organisation, coordination, and follow-up of online events, webinars, and public discussions, including communication and logistical aspects.
Programmes & Operations

Provide occasional support to the Head of Operations on research, mapping exercises, desk reviews, and programme-related assessments.

Assist in preparing briefings, background notes, and event materials.

Participate in conferences, workshops, or external meetings when relevant.
Administration & Finance Support

Support administrative and operational follow-up related to projects and events.

Assist with the preparation, organisation, and filing of invoices, receipts, and financial supporting documents.

Contribute to the tracking and compilation of expense reports and budget-related documentation.

Provide occasional logistical and administrative support to the team as required.
General
-
Work in accordance with Fight for Humanity’s mission, values, and ethical standards.

Read, understand, and comply with all organisational policies and procedures.

Contribute to the achievement of organisational and programme objectives.

Participate in internal meetings and training activities as required.

Undertake any other duties relevant to the position as requested.
Profile requirements:
To be considered for an internship at Fight for Humanity, the applicant must meet the following requirements:

Enrolled in a Master’s or graduate programme (Master's degree or higher), at the time of application and during the whole internship period in one of the following fields: human rights, international relations, international development, communication or a similar field.

Strong interest in human rights, humanitarian affairs, peacebuilding, or international relations.

Languages: English - Native or full professional proficiency | Good written and verbal communication skills in French and/or other languages are an asset.

Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and as part of a multicultural team.

Good knowledge of and/or previous experience with social media and digital communication tools is an asset.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and online communication platforms.
Internship conditions:
This internship is based in Geneva and can be part-time or full-time, for a minimum period of 2 months starting on September 1st, 2026. Unpaid position.
